美国城市化的历史 The History of United States Urbanization


课程开设的目的和预期效果:

课程主要介绍美国城市化进程的历史以及美国城市化进程的基本特征,通过学习,学生们可以掌握城市化进程的基本动力机制、人口流动管理、城市空间布局。

This course is designed to introduce students the history of American urbanization and basic characters of this urbanization process. After this course, students are expected to understand the dynamics of urbanization, management of floating population, and city planning. 


课程的基本简介:

本课程共计有6讲,主要涉及美国城市化进程的历史、美国城市化进程的基本特征、城市化进程的基本动力机制、产业发展模式、城市空间布局、以及城市基础设施的建设等。

This course has 6 lectures: history of American urbanization, basic characters of American urbanization, dynamics of urbanization, local government land use process (local planning and zoning), Case Study1 and 2 (the Midwest and Southeastern United States), Case Study 3 (the Pacific Northwest).


主讲人:威廉·莫纳汉,美国俄勒冈州密尔沃基市市长

William A. Monahan, City Manager, City of Milwaukie, Oregon (CURRICULUM VITAE)

威廉·莫纳汉现任美国俄勒冈州密尔沃基市市长,毕业于美国路易克拉克大学法学院获得法学博士学位(J.D.),曾经担任过俄勒冈州泰格德(Tigard)市的市长、律师、国际城市管理协会地方政府的顾问。威廉·莫纳汉同时担任国际城市管理协会国际委员会的委员,是一名全球闻名的城市问题管理专家。

William A. Monahan is the city manager of City of Milwaukie, Oregon. He has graduated from Lewis and Clark College (Northwestern School of Law) and got Juris Doctor degree. He has ever worked at the city manager of city of Tigard, Oregon, attorney, international local government consultant. William A. Monahan is the member of ICMA international committee, he is an international well-known expert on city management.
